This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting the opening of the West End revival of Bram Stoker's "DRACULA" at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London beginning September 13th, 1978. (The Broadway revival opened October 20th, 1977 at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York City and ran for 925 performances. The London production began previews on September 7th, 1978 and officially opened September 13th, 1978.) ..... The play starred TERENCE STAMP in the title role and featured DEREK GODFREY, ROSALIND AYRES, NICKOLAS GRACE, RUPERT FRAZER, MARILYN GALSWORTHY, SHAUN CURRY and BARRIE COOKSON ..... Side Note: The Original Broadway production was awarded a 1978 Tony Award for "Most Innovative Production of a Revival" due primarily to the ambitious sets and breathtaking costumes designed by EDWARD GOREY. CONDITION: This rare handbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
